Ukrzaliznytsia returns almost uah 1 mln to passengers of replaced Intercity+ trains

State Railways Administration of Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia for the period of running of other rolling stock instead of Intercity+ trains (February 12-17) had compensated the difference in fares and returned UAH 968,900 to 5,236 passengers.

In particular, 2,935 passengers refused to travel and received UAH 737,500 for unused tickets. The difference in the fare was paid to 2,301 passengers in the amount of UAH 231,500.

Passengers can receive the difference in fares in booking office at departure or arrival stations. Passengers will also be returned the full cost of travel if they decide not to travel, and this is not restricted as to the date of departure or arrival.

As reported, the detected technical failure of one of the Intercity+ trains made Hyundai Rotem, together with the Ukrainian High-Speed Railway Company, to temporarily suspend the operation of all ten trains for the safety of passengers on February 12.

South Korean experts will hold a comprehensive technical inspection of the trains.

First Deputy Director General of Ukrzaliznytsia Mykola Serhiyenko reported that the fault concerns the supporting structure of the body of the train.
