Ukrzaliznytsia to spend over uah 121 mln to modernize energy saving infrastructure in 2014

State Railways Administration of Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia plans in 2014 to spend over UAH 121.3 million on the modernization and repair of energy saving infrastructure.

In the current year to reconstruct and re-equip power supply infrastructure on the Svitohorsk-Bukyne section of Donetsk Railways, the Myronivka-Piatykhatky and Odesa-Vapniarka lines of Odesa Railways, the Nova Bavariya-Liubotyn line of Pivdenna Railways, the Piatykhatky-Chaplyne line of Prydniprovska Railways, the Kyiv-Vapniarka and Kyiv-Zernove lines of Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways and the Lviv-Lavochne-Chop line of Lviv Railways.

The company plans to replace nearly 152 km of worn out contact wire, over 75 km of span wire and 1,888 contact wire supporting structures and partially replace insulation on more than 21,000 insulators supporting contact wire constructions.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, now Ukraine operates a contact wire network of 10,266 kilometers, which covers 47% of the total length of Ukrainians railways.
