Fitch Ratings upgrades outlook on Ukrainian Railways' credit rating
One of the leading rating agencies, Fitch Ratings, has affirmed Ukrainian Railways' credit rating at “B“ and upgraded the rating outlook from “Stable“ to “Positive“.
This became possible after the change in the outlook for Ukraine's sovereign rating to “Positive” from “Stable”.
“One of the priority tasks is to bring Ukrainian Railways to the highest level of trust of international partners. To this end, we will work to reduce the company's loan portfolio and increase the income base of Ukrainian Railways", — stressed acting Chairman of the Management Board Olexandr Kamyshin.
Earlier, in July 2021, Fitch Ratings affirmed Ukrainian Railways' credit rating at 'B' with a stable outlook, removing it from the Rating Watch Negative (RWN) list.
It ought to be recalled that the stabilization of the financial condition and the formation of a high-quality loan portfolio of Ukrainian Railways is one of the priorities identified by Minister Olexandr Kubrakov.
