Pivdenna Railways in Jan-Feb increases cargo handling by 8.3%
Pivdenna Railways (Kharkiv) in January-February 2014 loaded 5.044 million tonnes of cargo, which is 3.1% more than planned, and 8.3% higher than last year's figures.
The largest shares of total cargo loading were taken up by iron ore (37%) and grain (36%).
Pivdenna Railways is one of Ukraine's oldest railways. Its length is over 3,000 kilometers, and the total length of its track is over 4,000 kilometers. The railways provides transportation services for an area with large mining, engineering and agricultural enterprises, over six regions that have a combined population of 20 million people.
