Pivdenna Railways in Jan-March ups cargo loading by 8.4%

Pivdenna Railways in January-March 2014 increased cargo loading by 8.4% compared to the same period in 2013, to 7.705 million tonnes.

The share of iron ore of the total amount of goods was 37.4%, while grain cargo accounted for 33.2%.

Compared to the same period in 2013, the volume of cement loading increased by 14.2%, coke by 13.6%, and food by 6.1%.

Pivdenna Railways is one of Ukraine's oldest railways. Its length is over 3,000 kilometers, and the total length of its track is over 4,000 kilometers. The railways provides transportation services for an area with large mining, engineering and agricultural enterprises, over six regions that have a combined population of 20 million people.
